Real Life Church of Weston, WV
2008 — 2025
Our Story
Real Life Church was founded in 2008 by Rick Brown, Glenn Lough, and Larry Ullom with their families. For 17 years the church sought to shine the light of the gospel into our community.
In 2025, after many years of decline, the trustees voted to dissolve the church and make way for a new church to acquire the building where we met for worship. Our last worship gathering was on November 30, 2025.
Today the Great Commission Community Church meets at 385 Mid Ave., Weston, WV. They are not affiliated with Real Life Church (RLC), but we encourage anyone seeking a church to visit them.
At RLC we were always about making Jesus known. If you don't yet know Him, please click the "How to know Jesus" link in the menu to watch a short video explaining how to begin a personal relationship with Christ.
This legacy page will remain live until our domain expires. It serves as a place to find archived worship services and social pages, plus a small record of our history for those who may be looking.
Real Life Church has run its race. We pray we have finished well. Our building has been donated to the Great Commission Community Church, and we are blessed that they will continue a gospel witness in our community. Our phone is disconnected and most email accounts are deactivated.
For those who were part of RLC, we pray you will find a new home church to plug into. To watch old worship services, please visit our archived YouTube channel. Our social platforms will remain accessible as long as those services maintain archives. Our records are archived with the WV Convention of Southern Baptists; contact them for baptism or membership records.
Mission Summary
Real Life Church existed to glorify God, love our neighbors, and make Jesus known in Weston and beyond. We used to express this with the acronym G.A.S, which stood for GLORIFY God in every way we can; ASSIST people with personal spiritual understanding; SHARE the good news of Jesus in every way possible. We had a lot of fun with GAS, but the idea behind it was fulfilling the great commission and the great commandment by making disciples and loving our neighbors.
